TIP Alumni: Identity Course, Spring 2025

Ends on

We are honored to present this advanced training for graduates of Bartol’s Trauma-Informed Practice certification. This workshop is designed and facilitated by Shavon Norris. To be eligible to apply, participants must:

  1. Have completed Bartol's live 20-hour training, OR completed Bartol's online asynchronous training and attended January's Intentional Inclusivity workshop.
  2. Agree to attend all three sessions meeting on Tuesdays from 5:30-8:00pm EST on April 15, 22, and 29.

Our identities, the ones we claim and the ones placed on us, influence the way we travel through the patterns of defining and assigning value in our communities and cultures. The practices and policies of assigning value at varying degrees based on identity, can affect the way a person exists in relationship with themselves, others, and the living and non-living world. During this workshop participants will be invited to explore the perspective, language and action necessary to:

  1. Examine how historical and structural oppressive systems traumatize individuals and communities based on identity.
  2. Affirm, heal and transform our individual and collective systems and habits of assigning value.
  3. Explore how to invite students into learning that is centered on their humanity and practice teaching tools that prioritize and cultivate equitable and healing centered environments.

Participation is only open to TIPTA graduates who have not already completed this series. Space is limited. You will receive an email by March 25th letting you know if you will be part of the 2025 workshop.

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
